Grant Making

To be considered for funding from the Gateway Foundation, organizations MUST:

  • Have tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code issued to an organization located in the Greater St. Louis Community
  • Be headquartered and provide services within the Greater St. Louis Community
  • Maintain a focus on arts and culture

Gateway Foundation does not make grants to the following:

Individuals or for-profit businesses • Organizations or projects that are outside of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, or status as a veteran

Project Support

To be considered for project support from the Gateway Foundation, organizations MUST:

  • Have tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code issued to an organization located in the Greater St. Louis Community
  • Be headquartered and provide services within the Greater St. Louis Community

Gateway Foundation does not support projects for following types of organizations:

Individuals or for-profit businesses • Organizations or projects that are outside of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, or status as a veteran

Sculpture Loan

To be considered for a sculpture loan from the Gateway Foundation, organizations MUST:

  • Have tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code issued to an organization located in the Greater St. Louis Community
  • Be headquartered and provide services within the Greater St. Louis Community
  • Be the property owner of the land where the piece will be installed or an entity which is assigned the rights or ability to represent the owners/community as specified in a letter from the property owner

Gateway Foundation does not make loans to the following types of organizations:

Individuals or for-profit businesses • Organizations or projects that are outside of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, or status as a veteran
