Joáo Gusmáo born 1979 and Pedro Paiva born 1977 were both born in Lisbon, Portugal. Working in collaboration since 2001, their research driven practice is a poetic investigation of scenarios that are equally cinematic, comedic, and enigmatic. They attended the University of Lisbon in Lisbon, Portugal, where they studied painting. They continue to live and work in Lisbon, Portugal.
